River Operation Coordinator- Sacramento, CA
Friends of the River seeks a passionate river advocate, a leader and team player with the passion to provide meaningful outdoor experiences that will help move people to action. The position is seasonal from April through September, and full-time during the 6 month period. The River Operations Coordinator supports organizing events, individuals, volunteers, communities, and organizations to inspire citizen action in close alignment with FOR policy objectives. Assistant Director, Climbing Center and Outdoor Programs, U of I - Moscow, ID
The Assistant Director, Climbing Center and Outdoor Programs oversees day-to-day leadership and administrative functions of the Climbing Center including hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of student employees. The Assistant Director manages the Climbing Center budget, employee payroll, and is responsible for researching, purchasing, and the maintenance/repair of the facility and equipment. The position will be responsible for designing, planning, scheduling, publicizing, coordinating, and instructing a variety of instructional trips, instructional programs, and classes within the Student Recreation Center Climbing Center and Outdoor Program. The position will manage the recruitment, hiring and training of student staff in preparation for their roles as trip staff. Other duties include assisting the Director in implementing risk management procedures and policies for student led programs used for Outdoor Program and Climbing Center activities. The Assistant Director will oversee the Outdoor Program Graduate Support Assistant. The position will assist the Outdoor and Youth Programs Director with other duties within the Outdoor Program such as leading a variety of wilderness and outdoor recreational and developmental activities for the university community. Other duties include directing safety inspections and maintenance of the Climbing Center and Climbing Center equipment.
The job is fulltime, paying $47,424 - $58,000 annually, depending on education and experience. High School Teacher, Advisor, Outdoor Instructor -- Idaho & Chile
Do you love being on the river or trail, and sharing that passion? Are you eager to motivate young leaders while engaging them in place-based learning? Join our team at Alzar School, an accredited semester high school and nonprofit, with the mission to "build leaders who positively impact the world." We are based in Cascade, Idaho and Coyhaique, Chile.
TEACHER:
Bring academic content to life through experiential learning! Teach 10th-11th grade high school students in one or more subject areas: math, science, English, History, Spanish, Leadership. We are equipped to support early career educators and train qualified individuals to be successful high school teachers (including earning a teaching license). Teachers travel to Chile with students for 7-8 weeks each semester, and join 6-12 day expeditions in both Idaho and Chile, leading in backpacking or whitewater river expeditions.
COMMUNITY AND EXPERIENTIAL ADVISOR (CEA):
Support student well-being in a residential boarding school environment. Serve as mentor, PE teacher, academic sub, and more. Our CEAs form close bonds with students and help create an inclusive and powerful community. Like teachers, CEAs also travel to Chile and lead as outdoor instructors on expeditions in Idaho and Patagonia, Chile.
