April Virtual Guide Gathering: Transitions

  • Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85749738582 (map)

a conversation around ✨TRANSITIONS✨ within the guiding community. This discussion is in conjunction with our Community Building Challenge, focusing on SHIFTING. A large and daunting process that we are often asked about at The Redside Foundation surrounds the topic of navigating into and out of guiding as a career. We believe supporting guides at ALL stages of their lives is essential, including during transitions and healthy shifts. How does the transition out of full-time guiding impact identity and belonging? How does one stay involved in the community? What’s it like working inside and microwaving your lunch? How many trips are you still do? What do they wish they could have done differently? We have gathered a wonderful group of humans for our RSF transition panel to share their transitions and shifts in their guiding careers. The TRANSITION conversation will cover topics like balancing family life, surviving graduate school, starting an office job for the love of conservation, beginning a nursing career, what it's like to be on the RSF board, starting a small business, and the value of outdoor education and instruction. We have a range of powerful lenses and experiences that we are so grateful to bring together. Whether you want to absorb the conservation, ask specific questions, make connections, or hang out with online friends, we’d love to see you there! Zoom Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85749738582
